What types of data do connected vehicles transmit from the vehicle?

"Examples of data sent include basic vehicle information (e.g. VIN, model, year, serial numbers, time, etc.). Diagnostics of vehicle systems (e.g. oil life, fuel consumption, tire pressure, etc.), and information about the usage and performance of vehicles, features, and technology.

The data is only off boarded to Lincoln or a third-party service provider in order to perform services and to fulfill requests by the customer. Lincoln’s customers have control over data shared with Lincoln, including the choice to opt-out of sharing data within the in-vehicle Settings menu with several quick presses of infotainment screen buttons."

The Lincoln app is a mobile application that allows Lincoln vehicle owners to connect with their vehicles, access information, and utilize features for an enhanced ownership experience. 

What can I do with the Lincoln app?

Do I need to create an account to use the Lincoln app?

Yes, you’ll need to create a Lincoln account to access the app’s features and connect to your vehicle. 

How do I connect my vehicle to the Lincoln app?

After creating an account, follow the prompts in the app to add your vehicle. You may need to enter your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and ensure your vehicle is compatible.

Can I use the Lincoln app functions with a non connected Lincoln vehicle?

How many times can I remote start my vehicle from my Lincoln app?

"As a safety precaution, Lincoln app will only let you Remote Start the vehicle twice in a row or once if you use Extend feature. On the third attempt, you will see a pop-up notification (too many remote requests have occurred…) requiring you to drive the vehicle manually (or physically start the vehicle to reset the built-in counter).

Note: When Engine bonnet is open, Lincoln app will not allow Remote start (bonnet has to be closed for safety reasons). Should a cabin door be ajar when Lincoln app Remote Start is activated, the vehicle will attempt the locking cycle (with ajar warning), and the Remote Start function will still operate successfully."

Will activating remote lock in Lincoln app also close Panoroof (if equipped)?

Remote lock command only locks the doors and will not close your Panoroof if it is open.

How do I create a Lincoln app account?

"Use the steps below to create your Lincoln app account.

1. Download the Lincoln app via your respective platform.

  • App Store® for iOS® devices.
  • Google Play™ store for Android™ devices.
  • 2. Open the Lincoln app on your device.

    3. Select your country.

    4. Tap Next.

    5. Select Create an Account.

    6. Enter your email address.

    7. Double-check your email address for errors or missing characters.

    8. Press Request Code.

  • An email will be sent to the email address associated with your account.
  • If you do not see the email, check your spam/junk folder.
  • 9. Retrieve the 6-digit code from your email.

    10. Enter your code in the Verification Code field.

    Important: If more than 10 minutes have passed since you requested the code, you will need to request another one by selecting Send New Code.

    I have a Ford app account, can I log-in with same credentials for Lincoln app?

    Yes, if you have registered for a Ford app account for the given country you are going to use the app, you can simply log in using the same Ford app  credentials for the Lincoln app as well.

    How do I reset my Lincoln app password?

    "You can reset your password using Lincoln app. Use the steps below for more information.

    Note: Availability of alternate process via web application (eg: like in US) is not confirmed for GCC region.

    To reset your password using Lincoln app:

    1. Open the Lincoln app.

    2. Access the login screen.

      Note: Select the Account > Log out options if you are currently logged in.

    1. Select Sign In.

    2. Tap Forgot Password?.

    3. Enter your email address in the Email field.

    4. Tap Request Code. An email will be sent to the email address associated with your account. If you do not see the email, check your spam/junk folder. 

    7. Retrieve the 6-digit code from your email.

    8. Enter your code in the Verification Code field.

    If I already have a Lincoln Account

    Log-in using your existing Lincoln app account credentials (username and password) on the Lincoln app. (or) If you have a new device, you do not have to create a new account. (or) If you lost your device or if it was stolen, you do not have to create a new account. If you encounter issues during the registration process, select to contact a Client Experience Manager for additional assistance.

    How do I get my Lincoln app account on my new phone?

    "You can add the Lincoln app to your new device without having to create another account. Use the steps below.

    Ensure your new phone meets the device compatibility specifications. Lincoln app is currently compatible with the following operating systems and versions (as of Mar 2025):

    Android™ software requirements: Software version 9.0 and up.

    iOS® software requirements: Software 16.5 or later.

    Download Lincoln app from the App Store® or Google Play™.

    Open the Lincoln app.

    Log in on your new phone using your existing username and password (Lincoln app account).

    Sign-out and uninstall Lincoln app on your old phone once Lincoln app is set up on your new phone. 

    To sign out of Lincoln app:

    Open the Lincoln app → Go to the Account screen → Scroll down and select Log Out.

    You will be directed to the login screen

    First time adding a vehicle

    "To add your first vehicle to Lincoln app:

    Open the Lincoln app.

    Press Add Vehicle.

    Press one of the following options on the pop-up message for camera access:

    Selecting Allow will allow Lincoln app to access your phone's camera. 

    Note: The scan window will appear to capture your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and route you to the Vehicle screen.


    Selecting Don't Allow will prevent Lincoln app from accessing your camera and you will need to type in your VIN. 

    Tap Enter VIN Manually. 

    Note: If you need help locating your VIN, tap the Find Your VIN link.

    Enter your VIN

    Select Next.

    Your vehicle should appear in the garage. "

    Why am I unable to add my Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to Lincoln app?

    "If you experience issues when attempting to add your VIN to Lincoln app, use the troubleshooting steps below. 

    Check the VIN: 

    Check the VIN you entered. 

    Ensure you entered the correct VIN.

    Note: VINs do not include the letters I, O, and Q to avoid confusion with the numbers one and zero.

    Try the Scan VIN option:

    Select the camera icon on the Add Vehicle screen.

    You will have the option to automatically add the VIN by scanning the VIN barcode on your door label.

    If you are still experiencing issues, contact a Lincoln app Client Experience Manager for assistance:

    Log in to the Lincoln app → Go to the Account screen → Select Contact Help → Tap the Call option to reach a Client Experience Manager.

    Adding additional Vehicle

    "To add another vehicle to Lincoln app:

    Log in to the Lincoln app.

    If you already have a vehicle selected, tap the Garage icon in the top right-hand corner of the Lincoln app.

    Note: The garage will load by default if you have not previously selected a vehicle.

    Tap the Add Vehicle button. 

    Press one of the following options on the pop-up message:

    Selecting Allow will allow Lincoln app to access your phone's camera. 

    Note: Scan window will appear to capture your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and route you to the Vehicle screen.

    Selecting Don't Allow will prevent Lincoln app from accessing your camera and you will need to type in your VIN.

    Tap Enter VIN Manually. 

    Note: If you need help locating your VIN, tap the Find Your VIN link.

    Enter your VIN & Select Next.

    Your vehicle should appear in the Vehicle Garage. Note: Max of 10 vehicles can be added to the account.

    How do I activate my vehicle's modem using Lincoln app?

    "To connect to your vehicle:

    Enter and turn your vehicle on. 

    Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated (good network coverage), safe area.

    Confirm your Connectivity Settings are enabled within your vehicle. 

    Open the Lincoln app.

    Select Connect to Vehicle.

    Note: If your vehicle is equipped with the Lincoln app Connect modem and the Connect to Vehicle tile does not appear, contact us through Account > Contact Help.

    Tap I've Started my Vehicle.

    Read and accept the prompt on your vehicle screen.  

    Note: It may take up to two minutes for the connection to complete. 

    Press Check Connection Status once you accept the in-vehicle prompt.

    Lincoln app will route you back to the Vehicle screen and the remote commands (if available) should appear below your vehicle image.

    How do I remove Lincoln app modem access for authorized users?

    "You can complete a Lincoln app Connect Reset on your vehicle's infotainment screen. For more information, refer to the steps below. 

    Important:

    This reset removes all Lincoln app Connect accounts linked to your vehicle. 

    To remove all previous owners, users, data, and in-vehicle settings, perform a Factory Reset. A Factory Reset also deletes your navigation favorites, Radio presets. 

    To complete a Lincoln app Connect Reset:

    Safely enter your vehicle.

    Ensure that your vehicle is on, running, parked, and in a well-ventilated safe area.

    Tap Settings on your infotainment screen.

    Scroll down and select Reset.

    Scroll down and select Lincoln app Connect Reset. 

    Close and reopen Lincoln app once the reset is complete. (You can now connect to your vehicle again)

    What happens if I lose my device and Lincoln app is active?

    "Your lost mobile phone and email can allow access to your Lincoln app account(s), which can be used to bypass your vehicle's security. Use the steps below to regain security.

    1. Secure your email used to register with Lincoln app to prevent others from accessing it.

  • Submit a Lincoln app password reset request to send a security email confirmation to the registered email.
  • Consider changing the password on your email account.
  • Important: This may trigger a sign-out on other devices and applications. This helps to ensure no unauthorized person has access to your email.

    2. Perform a Lincoln app Connect Reset to remove user authorizations. 

    3. Obtain a new or temporary device that is compatible with Lincoln app.

    4. Download Lincoln app from App Store® or Google Play™.

    5. Open Lincoln app and initiate a password reset.

    6. Enter your new credentials on the Lincoln app login screen after resetting your password.

    7. Check your vehicle list once Lincoln app loads.

    8. Proceed to activate your vehicle again for command-and-control access.

    Important: Only grant vehicle activation permission to accounts you know and trust. 

    If you cannot complete any of the Lincoln app steps above, contact a Client Experience Manager for additional support.

    How do I contact a Lincoln app Client Experience Manager?

    "Lincoln Client Experience Managers are the customer support team for Lincoln app. You can get in touch with a Client Experience Manager using your Lincoln app or by calling the support line.

    To contact support in the Lincoln app:

    Log in to the Lincoln app app.

    Go to the Account screen.

    Select Contact Help.

    Tap the Call option to reach a Client Experience Manager."
