NEW LAND ROVER DEFENDER
MAKES ITS MENA DEBUT AT THE DUBAI INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW

The New Land Rover Defender will be making its highly anticipated MENA debut at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show, which will run from 12-16 November at the Dubai World Trade Centre. As the largest international automotive event across the Middle East and North Africa region, there is no better occasion to mark the return of this iconic car.

Defender will be available soon to retail in the UAE with several choices of accessory packs. Click here to book yours today:

Comprising of the Defender, S, SE, HSE, First Edition, and top-of-the-range Defender X, the range allows customers to personalise their vehicle in more ways than any previous Land Rover, with four Accessory Packs: the Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban pack, each giving the Defender a distinct character. Exclusive First Edition models featuring unique specification will be available throughout the first year of production.

The New Land Rover Defender has been through more than 62,000 tests for engineering sign-off, while the chassis and body architecture have been engineered to withstand Land Rover’s Extreme Event Test procedure – repeated and sustained impacts, above and beyond the normal standard for SUV and passenger cars.

Shaped by over 1.2 million kilometres of on and off-road testing in extreme conditions around the world, including the scorching temperatures of the UAE, the freezing cold of Arjeplog in the Arctic Circle and the punishing Nürburgring Circuit in Germany, as well as the plains of Kenya, the New Defender promises to bring unparalleled breadth of capability and new levels of comfort and driveability to the Land Rover family. This is a huge draw for UAE customers who need a car that can withstand high temperatures, is at home on the urban streets, and can easily traverse desert terrain.

An icon reimagined

Available in both 90 and 110 body designs, with up to six seats in the 90 and the option of five, six or 5+2 seating in the 110, its distinctive silhouette makes the New Defender instantly recognisable, with minimal front and rear overhangs providing excellent approach and departure angles.

Land Rover’s new purpose-engineered D7x (for extreme) architecture is based on a lightweight aluminium monoque construction to create the stiffest body structure the brand has ever produced.

Three times stiffer than traditional body-on-frame designs, it has been engineered to withstand Land Rover’s Extreme Event Test procedures and provides the perfect foundations for the fully independent air or coil sprung suspension while supporting the latest electrified powertrains.

A choice of advanced petrol engines ensure New Defender has the power, control and efficiency for any environment.

New Defender features permanent four-wheel drive, a twin-speed automatic gearbox, a maximum towing capability of 3,500kg and a maximum static roof load of 300kg, making it the perfect companion for overland adventures.

The New Defender is also the first Land Rover to feature Configurable Terrain Response, which allows drivers to fine-tune a range of settings to suit the conditions more precisely than ever before. A new Wade programme optimises the vehicle for fording – giving customers even more confidence when tackling flooded roads and tracks. Defender has a world-class maximum wading depth of up to 900mm.

Inside, the highly functional cabin design is marked out by exposed structural elements and 21st century technologies, including the state-of-the-art New Pivi Pro infotainment system.- In addition Software-Over-The-Air technology, with 14 individual modules capable of receiving remote updates, ensures Defender customers always benefit from the latest software, wherever they are in the world.
