Our commitment to quality for customers

The warranty for a new Kia begins on the date of original retail delivery or first use. It remains valid provided that the customer carries out periodic maintenance at approved centres in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the manufacturer's conditions, completes maintenance on schedule with documented proof, and uses only genuine spare parts.

Items With a Different Warranty Period

The items below carry warranty periods that differ from the basic vehicle warranty.

  • Battery — The originally fitted battery is covered against manufacturing defects for the first 12 months from the date of original retail delivery or first use, regardless of mileage.
  • Air Conditioner Refrigerant (Cooling System Gas) — The air-conditioner refrigerant charge is covered for the first 12 months from the date of original retail delivery or first use, regardless of mileage. After 12 months, it is covered only when replenished as part of a warranty repair.
  • Tyres — Tyres supplied with your Kia are covered by the tyre manufacturer's warranty. If you find a defect in the original tyres, whether in material or workmanship, please contact the tyre manufacturer or its authorised dealer. Your Kia distributor will also be glad to assist.
  • Consumables — Items consumed through normal use (for example, V-belts, timing belts, bulbs, fuses, wiper blades, brake components, filters, clutch disc and clutch assembly, and spark plugs) are covered against manufacturing defects for 12 months or 20,000 km, whichever comes first, from the date of original retail delivery or first use.
  • Navigation System — The navigation system is covered by a limited warranty, as set out in the navigation owner's manual.
  • Anti-Perforation (Corrosion) — Kia warrants that the body sheet-metal panels of your vehicle are free of defects in material or workmanship that result in perforation (a hole through the panel) due to corrosion, subject to the applicable terms and conditions. An authorised Kia dealer will repair or replace any body sheet-metal panel perforated by corrosion resulting from such defects, under normal use, at no charge to you. This warranty applies for the first 36 months from the date of original retail delivery or first use, or 100,000 km, whichever comes first.
  • Audio Drive Mechanism — The drive mechanism of the audio cassette and compact disc player is covered for 36 months from the date of original retail delivery or first use, or 60,000 km, whichever comes first.

Basic Warranty Period

Kia's new limited warranty is 60 months or 150,000 km, whichever comes first, from the date of original retail delivery or first use. for models Mohave, Cadenza, Quoris & K-900 — The special warranty for these models is 5 years or unlimited mileage, whichever comes first, from the date of original retail delivery or first use.

    Not Covered Under Warranty

    Regular maintenance service, including inspection, tightening and adjustment of the engine; adjustment of the fuel injection system; wheel balancing; lubrication; and the replacement of transmission oil, engine oil, brake fluid, gearbox oil, steering fluid, battery water and acid, antifreeze, windscreen washer fluid, and cooling system gas; as well as tyre replacement.

    Natural wear and corrosion, for example:

    • Spark plugs
    • Front and rear brake pads
    • The clutch and its components
    • Wiper rubber parts
    • Filters
    • Lights and fuses (circuit breakers)
    • Belts
    • Any other consumable* parts

    *regular maintenance (consumable) parts are covered by the warranty and will be replaced in the event of a defect in materials or workmanship.

    Damage and losses not covered by the warranty, for example:

    • Neglect of the proper maintenance procedures stated in the owner's manual
    • Misuse, overloading, accident, theft, flooding, or fire
    • Use of unsuitable fuel, fluids, or oils that do not conform to the recommended specifications
    • Use of non-genuine parts
    • Any device or accessory not supplied by Kia
    • Modification, damage, manipulation, tampering, or improper repair
    • Damage to rubber parts under normal use or through exposure to the sun
    • Minor, undetectable imperfections that do not affect the quality or performance of the vehicle or its parts, such as minor noises or vibrations that form part of the vehicle's normal character
